An Inward Journey

This week we've been talking about ikigai. But, ikigai is much more than finding the intersection between what you love, you're good at, that which pays you and which suffices the need of the world around! Finding the intersection between is a mere way to identify a spot where you may find your ikigai. Ikigai, in fact, is an intangible, non-materialistic entity.

The characteristics of ikigai are – finding flow in everything we do and remaining active,

taking it slow and not worrying, cultivating a good culture including good nutrition – not

just for your body but also your mind and your being, nurturing good relationships, living an

unhurried life, being optimistic and full of life, reconnecting with nature, being thankful,

having resilience and being adaptive, cherishing wabi-sabi – another Japanese concept

that embraces the imperfection of life and realising this moment. By finding our ikigai and

living its characteristics in our day-to-day life, we can lead a meaningful, purposeful and a

fulfilling life. There's a sense of slowness in finding and living one's ikigai.

Ikigai is not a destination, but rather a life-long journey. It's a search, an inward journey.
