Gratitude is an internal experience. It happens in this moment, in the right now. But to reach this state of experience one needs to do a bit of work. One needs to just be present to this moment, accept it the way it is (regardless of situations and circumstances), acknowledge it. In this moment of authentic acknowledgement, one can experience gratitude. In gratitude, one need not be grateful for or about what they have, but one is grateful for simply being present to what they have. Therefore, being grateful becomes an internal act rather than a circumstantial or depending on external situations.
Gratitude, an internal experience, then manifests into a gesture, an outward bound. Gratitude as a gesture may come in various forms and means – be it a hug or a kiss, cooking a favourite meal for the loved ones, writing a thank you note or even while paying your employees it becomes an act beyond a mere transaction. Experiencing gratitude in an ongoing manner disappears the worries, fears and anxieties of the past and the future. We can be in gratitude in the present moment, in the right now. Gratitude happens in the right now.
