We are always in search of a certain way to deal with uncertainties in life. Unfortunately, there is no certain way to deal, fix or to avoid uncertainty. The attempt to avoid uncertainties is an attempt to avoid living itself. The moment we start making life predictable, we start staying in the past and not living in the present. The anxieties and worries of tomorrow also come from our past experiences and thus stop us from living the “now” moment by moment. As we start observing our thoughts and ideas about the uncertainties, we realise that most of our suffering is a cognitive creation. Facing the challenges of life with complete involvement may give us pain when we go through it, but suffering is something that comes from either staying in the past or worrying about the future. Many times it comes from being victims of our own stories. Self-pity can take us into a rabbit hole of victimhood and stop us from taking responsibility for our own life. We start “enjoying” the blame-games and close all doors of support from others.
