Writing allows a mind to be with this moment, it allows to bring out all the thoughts and emotions and to achieve a clearing. In this process of catharsis, there is a point where the mind is simply able to observe the things the way they are, and distinguish itself from the made up narrative around it. There are no biases, apprehensions or opinions. This is a state of being empty.
Emptiness, in this context, is to be understood as a state of being, and it is not about going blank. The thoughts and the mind are very much present still. It is only now, inside of this space one is able to distinguish the self from the mind, the thoughts (and even the body). In this space, the definition of self, alters.
Once a space is empty, it can be filled up with anything. Emptiness is a possibility, a possibility to create whatever one wants and strives for.
Once a space is empty, it can be filled up with anything. Emptiness is a possibility, a possibility to create whatever one wants and strives for. This possibility is not in the thoughts, one must understand – for thoughts are a product coming from our past (or an assumption of the future that is purely imagined and constructed based only and only on past experiences). An emptiness must therefore be addressed with pure possibility, and that possibility should not get muddled into/ with thoughts. A space of emptiness filled again with thoughts will be something like an anti-clearing – and we would be back to square one!
Emptiness, therefore, is a double-edged sword and it has to be addressed carefully and with clarity. It has to be addressed in the being. In that space there is a new possibility – a pure possibility. And any new possibility is an opportunity to bring a paradigm shift.
