Being in integrity is an action. It is an action where an individual demonstrates her/ his commitment to the word given. It is only and only that act. Integrity is not about anything else – not morality, not values. In the action of being committed to the word, the commitment in integrity is neither to be understood as delivering on the commitment nor as an accountability. So why does the demonstration of our commitment to the word given becomes so important?
Integrity is keeping our inner being together, intact, whole, undivided. Who we are is what we exist to others in their language – as they identify us as. We’re a story, a narration that we exist in other’s language. An individual exists in different forms (in the language) to her/ his mother, partner, sibling, children, friend, colleague, neighbour and so on. An individual exists differently to two different siblings within the same family! Our body is only a medium to manifest our actions. But we essentially exist by our actions, and those actions are defined by each (or another) individual that we encounter in their own language. Integrity is in keeping that language about us consistent and aligned through to a range of different individuals that we associate ourselves with.

Integrity too is a constructed story, but the only fundamental difference is that we define this story with our consciousness and our awareness. Integrity allows (and also empowers) us to be in alignment with our word, our commitment and our own being. It is not an identity, but simply a way of being.
