Feelings are, as we have already seen, have a multitude of facets or dimensions to it. Feelings can be a sensation or an emotion. Feelings can seem to be triggered by an external factor or they could be generated from within – internally. Feelings could be of a completed past, present or in anticipating the future. But feelings always happen in the right now. It is like “being”, a present participle. In this moment, in each moment of being alive feelings happen.
But only when we become present to a particular feeling and choose to take charge of it, act upon it, it becomes a possibility.
And, only when one wants to intentionally steer their life in a certain direction, they realise that they cannot wait for that feeling to evoke to be then translated or materialised into a possibility, and then to take a likely action. One needs to become present in the moment and needs to generate a specific feeling from within. ‘Feeling’ is a participatory activity and it does not happen accidentally.
One needs to realise that we’re generating feelings all the time – all the facets of the feelings – emotional, sensational and physical. Only, we have been doing it unconsciously or subconsciously. Becoming present to our own feelings will allow us to choose our feelings mindfully, consciously and in alignment with our purpose. It then becomes a truly participatory act.
