This is the story of a small boy from a small town. Now to begin this story, let me take you to Hasmatpur. Rural India has many such small places with interesting names. Strangely as the name of this place, nobody here was allowed to laugh. Hasmatpur has been like this for decades. Several incidents happened here but no one ever laughed. Disruption to the culture of Hasmatpur started when a boy named Gudgudiram came to this place, thanks to his father's transfer. Reason for disruption was that Gudgudiram couldn't avoid himself from making jokes when he spoke. Every sentence he spoke was funny enough to make people crack into laughter.
Regardless of place and time, Gudgudiram would say something which disturbed the cultural fibre of Hasmatpur. Relatives and friends of Gudgudiram started staying away from him. Markets and other public places had to put billboards saying "Stay away from Gudgudiram". Many people have to use cotton balls in their ears when they had to pass the lane where Gudgudiram stayed. During birthday celebrations, Gudgudiram was asked to come with a mask on his mouth so that he could not speak but this new avatar of him made everybody laugh as he tore his father's dhoti to make the mask.
Keeping humour and Gudgudiram away from each other became impossible. Every new idea ended up in more laughter. Relocating Gudgudiram to a nearby town was the new plan. Now, the problem with that was, the neighbouring town was called 'Pindropshantipur'. Residents of this town, who never spoke a word to maintain silence, had already had learned about Gudgudiram and so they locked their borders. They also had another problem to deal with. Hence, they pushed Rotluram into Hasmatpur as he was breaking their silence by making everyone sad and cry their hearts out.
This new entrant was now a bigger nuisance to the residents of Hasmatpur. Rotluram became a bigger problem than Gudgudiram. Master plan to solve this problem was to introduce the two of them and see the outcome. Everybody was zapped to see that Gudgudiram made Rotluram laugh like crazy.
Yes, Gudgudiram won the hearts of all the residents and his humour made them change the name of their town to Laughloudnagar. The LA LA Laughing Land.
