If you listened to the latest podcast of Thirteen, there is a possibility that the conversation about sun-soaked walk brought some memories back. For me, they did. The memories from different phases of my life. Some times the situation in which those walks happed was joyful and fun. Some other times they were in stress, anxiousness and pain.
The earliest memories I have are going to school—the by-lanes, crossing the main road and walking under the trees. My mother accompanied those walks. I also remember the summer days when my mother and I went to buy household stuff. I remember the halts at juice centres to take rest and some energy from fruit juices.
At an emotional level, these walks were in the context of exploring new places and learning new things. Now I can see how important those walks were for us. For me. The reason for those walks was very operational. It was to get something done or complete a task. It can be seen as something every child days when they start getting into the outer world.
Those memories were mundane and casual then, but now I see the love and belongingness given by a mother.
