When I sit down to write, one thing that immediately gets me involved is the sound of the nib on paper – particularly if it’s a fountain pen. The other thing that grabs my attention is the ink drying. Just watching each stroke and listening to the sound of it is so mesmerising. It's a poetic experience for me. The world around pauses. and it seems that I can be in this state the whole day.
