From a very young age, the one question which bothered me a lot was "What is the meaning of my life?" And as I was unable to discover or even invent an answer for that, I started looking for someone who could give it to me. After many years I could see it for myself that there is no one fixed answer for this question. Also, I could see that the meaning of my life is entirely a context-driven, situation driven answer that may alter from time to time.
I can now say that I have access to finding that meaning. It lies in taking responsibility for my own life. Taking responsibility for my being. And, my "way of being" translates into the actions, emotions and behaviours coming out of me. When I am being a son, that being gives me the responsibilities to perform the duties of a son. Same goes for all the different ways of beings - be it a husband, wife, mother, father, manager, leader, healthy person, sportsperson etc. Every "way of being" brings along with it the manifestation of that being. I don't think any mother needs a reminder to be set to feed her newborn, focusing on fitness and diet is a very part of a sportsman’s lifestyle, empowering or inspiring people is a natural expression of one who is being a leader.
Every "way of being" brings along with it the manifestation of that being.
A "way of being" gives accountability of that particular ‘beingness’. And accountability like being responsible or happy or suffering cannot be delegated. You simply own it.
